Avril Ferguson

Avril Ferguson is the owner and founder of Norfolk County Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. For the last 15 years Avril has worked across social services as a counsellor, advocate, and educator, supporting individuals through complex and deeply personal experiences.
Avril specializes in perinatal mental health, birth and reproductive trauma, and perinatal grief and loss. She is passionate about holding space for individuals and families during their most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life. Avril has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which she integrates into her trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
Avril believes in celebrating individuality and diversity, and she approaches each therapeutic relationship with empathy, flexibility, and respect. She is deeply committed to empowering her clients to grow, heal, and rediscover their strength—on their own terms.
Jade Barker

Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Jade is a Registered Social Worker and has worked in various social service settings with adults, children, youth, and their families. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Children and their Families and a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Jade prioritizes developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with individuals to ensure that people feel heard and understood. She wants people to be able to live their lives to the fullest and be their best selves and works collaboratively to develop goals that are meaningful to each individual. She prides herself on being compassionate, understanding, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based.
Her approach is eclectic and draws from her specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy.
Jade provides individual support to children, youth, and adults for various challenges. She is passionate about supporting individuals with anxiety and providing parenting support. She also enjoys working with families to help them function the best they can.
Hannah Doyle

Hannah Doyle is a Registered Psychotherapist at Norfolk County Counselling and Psychotherapy. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Since 2019, Hannah has worked in various social service settings, including residential care, the shelter system, and community mental health.
Hannah supports individuals aged 16 and older and has a special interest in parenting support, men’s mental health, anxiety, ADHD, and emotional regulation. Her approach is rooted in person-centred, attachment-informed, and somatic frameworks, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness-based practices.
Hannah believes in the healing power of human connection and strives to offer a space where clients feel safe, seen, and accepted without judgment. Informed by her own lived experience with anxiety and ADHD, she is passionate about helping others deepen their self-understanding and create meaningful, lasting change.
Tania Clatsoff

Tania Clatsoff is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist at Norfolk County Counselling and Psychotherapy. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Western University. Tania has supported individuals and families in the field of social work for over fifteen years, with experience in hospital settings, long-term care, and child welfare.
Tania provides therapy for individuals experiencing trauma, attachment issues, grief, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. She also has extensive experience supporting those navigating separation, loss, and parenting challenges.
With a compassionate and client-centered approach, Tania is dedicated to helping clients achieve their personal goals through individualized care in a safe and supportive environment. She draws from a wide range of therapeutic modalities to support clients in managing life stressors, developing healthy boundaries, and cultivating emotional resilience.
A long-time resident of Haldimand-Norfolk, Tania is proud to be serving the community she calls home.
Brenna Bomberry

Brenna Bomberry is a Registered Psychotherapist at Norfolk County Counselling and Psychotherapy. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, a Bachelor of Science, and an Ontario College Graduate Certificate. Since 2019, Brenna has worked in the social services sector as a support worker, counsellor, and advocate for individuals navigating complex challenges. Her background includes working with neurodivergent populations and individuals living with brain injuries.
Brenna specializes in supporting children, teens, and young adults through life transitions, grief, and trauma. She has completed additional training in safeTALK suicide prevention, Brief & Narrative Therapy, and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), and integrates an Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed perspective into her work.
Brenna’s approach is strength-based, trauma-informed, and deeply client-centered. She believes that each person holds many stories and that healing begins with being truly heard. With a gentle and supportive presence, Brenna creates space for clients to explore their journeys with safety, curiosity, and compassion—free from judgment.
Stephanie DiBiase

Stephanie DiBiase is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist at Norfolk County Counselling and Psychotherapy. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a post-graduate certificate in Concurrent Disorders. Stephanie has experience working in case management, education and has provided clinical support in both individual and group settings since 2014.
Stephanie specializes in working with adults navigating life transitions, relationship issues, chronic stress and burnout. She holds additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Stephanie’s work focuses on interpersonal relationships, maintaining boundaries and improving communication. She strives to create a safe space where individuals can learn skills to build healthy, meaningful relationships while prioritizing their emotional well-being.
Katie Friesen

Katie Friesen is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and the Intake Coordinator at Norfolk County Counselling and Psychotherapy. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Katie has worked in community mental health and addictions since 2020, supporting individuals across a range of life experiences.
Katie specializes in working with individuals navigating OCD, ADHD, men’s mental health, and relationship challenges. She has completed specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and is passionate about supporting clients through a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens.
Katie’s therapeutic approach is person-centered and grounded in relational care. She strives to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel seen and supported. Katie is especially drawn to helping individuals understand themselves more deeply, strengthen their relationships, and move toward lasting emotional well-being.
Danielle Hogeterp

Danielle Hogeterp is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Norfolk County Counselling and Psychotherapy. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. Since 2008, Danielle has worked in the social services field as a support worker, case manager, advocate, and educator, supporting individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges.
Danielle works with individuals and couples navigating ADHD, OCD, grief and loss, trauma recovery, and anxiety. She has completed specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Inference-Based CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, CBT for ADHD, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Danielle’s therapeutic approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered, integrating evidence-based practices from CBT, ACT, and the Gottman Method. She is committed to supporting clients with compassion and curiosity, helping them build insight, recognize their resilience, and move toward meaningful change. Danielle is also able to offer counselling through a Christian lens for those who wish to incorporate their faith into the healing process.
Britanny Allan-Fleming

Brittany Allan-Fleming is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a Master of Social Work from McMaster University, where she also completed her Bachelor of Social Work with a focus on Mental Health, Illness, and Addictions.
She has spent years supporting people through some of their most difficult moments. At McMaster Children’s Hospital, Brittany worked with youth in acute child and adolescent mental health, walking alongside individuals and families in times of crisis. She has also worked with both youth and adults facing a wide range of challenges, including behavioural concerns, substance use, and complex mental health needs.
Today, Brittany works with children, teens, adults, and families who are navigating mental health concerns, stress, trauma, grief, addictions, and life transitions. She also supports parents and families in building healthier communication and stronger relationships.
Her approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). No matter which strategies she draws on, Brittany’s style is warm, relational, and strengths-based—focused on helping people feel understood, empowered, and capable of creating meaningful change.
Brittany believes therapy should feel safe, supportive, and tailored to you. She works with each client at their own pace, honouring their lived experiences while helping them build resilience, find clarity, and move forward with confidence.
Kathleen Story
Registered Psychotherapist
Kathleen is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights.
With a background in education, Kathleen has supported children and youth in school settings since 2018 and has been working in private practice since 2022. She provides therapy to individuals, couples, and families, with a particular interest in helping couples strengthen their connection, deepen emotional understanding, and navigate relational challenges.
Her clinical focus includes relationship concerns, communication and attachment patterns, identity and self-esteem, developmental challenges, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. She supports couples experiencing conflict, disconnection, and life transitions, while also working with children and adolescents facing social, emotional, and school-related concerns.
Kathleen draws on a range of therapeutic modalities, including Gottman Method-informed principles, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodynamic Therapy, Play Therapy, and Creative Arts Therapies. She works in an integrative and responsive way, adapting her approach to meet the unique developmental stage and needs of each individual, couple, or family.
Her approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centred. She is passionate about creating a warm, respectful, and collaborative space where clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard as they work toward greater insight, healing, and meaningful change.
Cierra Bailey
Cierra Bailey, B.A., B.Ed., Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) Clinical Counselling Student Intern
Cierra is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Student Intern completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education and has a background in child development, family systems, and educational settings.
Cierra’s clinical focus is perinatal mental health, parenting, and early family life. She supports individuals and families across the reproductive and parenting journey, including pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, loss and grief, and the emotional and identity transitions that often accompany parenthood. She also works with parents and caregivers experiencing burnout, overwhelm, low mood, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and relationship or attachment challenges.
Cierra works closely with Avril Ferguson, MA, RP, Founder and Clinical Director, and receives ongoing specialized training and supervision with a focus on perinatal and parenting-related care.
Her therapeutic approach is client-centred, relational, attachment-informed, and trauma-sensitive. She prioritizes creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients can move at a pace that feels right for them.
As a student intern, Cierra is able to offer therapy at a reduced rate while providing care that is closely supervised and supported within the clinic.

Angie Vandenberg
Angie Vandenberg, BA, MACP (pending) Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Angie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from McGill University with minors in Psychology and Management. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is practicing under the supervision of a licensed counsellor as part of her clinical training.
Her professional background includes work in legal administration since 2021 and volunteer experience supporting individuals with developmental challenges, including social, emotional, and language developmental delays, as well as communication barriers.
Angie is passionate about supporting Individuals navigating change, grief, and loss, as well as couples working through complex relationship dynamics and communication difficulties.
Her therapeutic approach is holistic and collaborative recognizing that many factors influence mental health and well-being. She draws from emotion-focused, psychodynamic, and somatic techniques to help clients gain clarity and presence in their lives. Angie’s goal is to honour the various parts of her clients as they move through change and self-discovery.
She deeply respects the courage it takes to reach out for help. Angie is committed to helping her clients find fulfillment and meaning in their current stage of life. If you’re feeling stuck, she welcomes the chance to pause together and explore the “why” with compassion and curiosity.
Michelle Roberts
Michelle Roberts, B.A., SSW, MSW (Candidate, May 2026) MSW Clinical Counselling Intern
Michelle is completing her Master of Social Work practicum at Norfolk County Counselling & Psychotherapy under clinical supervision. She brings over ten years of experience working with children, youth, and families in high-stress and emotionally complex situations, including child welfare, trauma, case management, and individual clinical support.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed, client-centred care. Michelle integrates evidence-based and strength-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and play-based techniques to help clients develop emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, and resilience.
Michelle’s areas of focus include trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and burnout. She is passionate about helping clients strengthen their relationships, build coping strategies, and reconnect with their sense of safety and wellbeing.
