Avril Ferguson

Clinic Owner
Avril is the owner and founder of Norfolk County Counselling & Psychotherapy. Avril is a Registered Psychotherapist, has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
Since 2011 she has worked in social services as a counsellor, advocate, and educator.
She thrives working from a strengths-based approach to empower clients. She understands that each person needs a unique approach and finesse to be successful.
Avril’s specialized treatment areas are perinatal mental health and birth and reproductive trauma.
Avril has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapies.
Avril celebrates individuality and diversity and believes in a person’s ability to change.
Jade Barker
BSW, MSW
Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Jade is a Registered Social Worker and has worked in various social service settings with adults, children, youth, and their families. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Children and their Families and a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Jade prioritizes developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with individuals to ensure that people feel heard and understood. She wants people to be able to live their lives to the fullest and be their best selves and works collaboratively to develop goals that are meaningful to each individual. She prides herself on being compassionate, understanding, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based.
Her approach is eclectic and draws from her specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy.
Jade provides individual support to children, youth, and adults for various challenges. She is passionate about supporting individuals with anxiety and providing parenting support. She also enjoys working with families to help them function the best they can.
Sarah Sibany
BA, BSW, MSW
Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Sarah is a registered social worker who has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Sociology.
Sarah has worked for over sixteen years helping children, teens and adults in various roles in child welfare as well as work in mental health, domestic violence and with the school board.
She is strength based, non-judgemental, and compassionate. She strives to build meaningful relationships with clients built on trust and support. She draws from a wide variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,
Sarah has specialized trauma training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Hannah Doyle
BA, MACP
Registered Psychotherapist
Hannah has worked within the social services for several years. She has expeience in residential programs with children and adults and the shelter system with folks experiencing homelessness. Through this, she has gained invaluable experience in harm reduction, trauma informed practice, and community mental health.
With her own experience with mental health and ADHD, Hannah is familiar with the challenges it brings. Hannah strives to connect with people and provide them a space where they feel heard, understood, and respected. Working from a strength based, attachment focused approach, Hannah understands that each client is uniquely different and she values these differences.
Hannah is our virtual specialist and works primarily remotely. She has very limited in person space.
Tania Clatsoff
BA, BSW, MSW
Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Tania has helped people for over fifteen years in the field of social work. She has worked in a hospital setting, long term care and in child welfare. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Western University; a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University and a Master of Social work form the University of Calgary. Her clinical experience has included working with people who have experienced trauma, attachment issues, grief, depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. She has also worked with individuals experiencing separation and loss, and parenting issues.
Tania is excited to offer individual counselling at Norfolk County Counselling & Psychotherapy. She looks forward to helping clients achieve their goals by providing an individualized therapy experience in a compassionate and safe setting.
Tania’s toolbox has a wide range of therapeutic approaches to help her clients develop skills to manage life’s stressors, find and set healthy boundaries, and maintain motivation.
Tania has lived in Haldimand-Norfolk for most of her life and is very proud to be a part of this wonderful community.
Brenna Bomberry

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Brenna has various experiences within the social services field over the past 5 years ranging from working with youth in recreational settings to brain injury clients to adolescents in residential facilities. Throughout these experiences she has obtained irreplaceable experience in grief, trauma, life transition challenges, and community mental health.
Brenna has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Post-Graduate Diploma in Brain Disorder Management and is in the final stages of obtaining her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. With this extensive education, Brenna has taken advantage of experiences outside the classroom setting to expand her knowledge on mental health across the ages. Brenna has developed a passion for helping others through their hurdles in life to obtain the perspective on life they deserve. Brenna takes a person-centered approach and assists others in making their lives one that they enjoy and can flourish in. Brenna’s goal for clients is to ensure they enter a therapeutic environment where they feel understood, respected and most importantly heard.
Stephanie DiBiase
BA, MSW
Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Stephanie is a registered social worker with over ten years experience working in community mental health and addictions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of Guelph; post-graduate certificate in Concurrent Disorders and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Her clinical experience in primary care has focused on helping adults who are living with addictions, anxiety, depression and chronic stress. Stephanie has a passion for working with individuals experiencing difficulties and stress related to parenting, as well as those who struggle with managing healthy boundaries in relationships.
Stephanie uses a strength based, person-centred approach in therapy to best understand unique individual needs. Collaboratively, she works alongside individuals to develop a plan for recovery. Her specialized training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) contribute to her eclectic therapeutic approach.
She aims to provide clients with a safe space to learn skills that can help break down the roadblocks that are standing between them and the life they deserve.
Katie Friesen

Katie Friesen is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Katie has worked in the social services field for 6 years, gaining invaluable experience in harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, psychosocial rehabilitation, and community mental health. Her person-centered, strengths-based approach reflects her passion for collaborating with clients to achieve the mental wellness they deserve.
Having faced mental health challenges herself, Katie understands the difficulties involved and is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful space where clients feel truly heard and valued. She celebrates diversity and aims to meet clients where they are, empowering them to play an active role in their therapeutic treatment.
Danielle Hogeterp

Since 2008, Danielle has been committed to supporting adults living with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, addiction, ADHD, and psychotic disorders. Her extensive experience spans residential, community, and justice system settings, where she has worked as a counsellor, advocate, and educator.
Danielle has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Sociology and is a graduate student at Yorkville University in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program.
Danielle thrives on empowering clients through a strengths-based, person-centered, and holistic approach. She recognizes that each individual requires a unique and tailored therapeutic method to achieve their goals and wellness. Her therapeutic practice is focused on creating a safe and understanding environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported.
Danielle’s areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting struggles, and marriage challenges. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals and couples living with ADHD and providing Christian counselling for those who wish to incorporate their faith into therapy sessions.
Danielle celebrates individuality and diversity, firmly believing in every person’s ability to change and grow. Her goal is to develop a powerful therapeutic relationship that empowers clients towards a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
Hannah Kochany

Client Care Coordinator and Executive Assistant
She is currently a full-time student in the Bachelor of Social Work program at Toronto Metropolitan University. After completing her studies, she hopes to pursue a career as a therapist or related field within the social services industry.
